The second generation of the Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones are already official with upgraded hardware. This includes the Galaxy A3 2016, Galaxy A5 2016, Galaxy A7 2016 and the Galaxy A8 2016. Now its the time for the upcoming Galaxy A series flagship which is expected to launch soon as some of the official images from the handset have been leaked on Chinese website Weibo confirming the specifications and images of the handset in brief.

Samsung Galaxy A9 was previously leaked when the screen size of the handset was confirmed from the Zauba listing of the phone. The phone was found imported to India and was listed on the Indian import/export website Zauba with the screen size 6-inches. The same have been confirmed by the source providing the official images from the device.

The Galaxy A9 will have a 6-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display with 1080p resolution and dual 2.5D glass panel. It will be powered by an octa-core 1.8GHz Snapdragon 620 that comes with 4x Cortex-A72 and 4x Cortex-A53 cores alongside Adreno 510 GPU for graphics. It will have 3GB of RAM and will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box which will be upgradable to Android Marshmallow later. The phone will be built around a metal frame.

The Galaxy A9 will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and f/1.9 aperture. An 8-megapixel front facing camera is also on board. The phone will have 32GB inbuilt storage with expandable storage slot. It will have a large 4,000 mAh battery and will support LTE Cat.7 connectivity with other connectivity options as well like Bluetooth, Wifi, USB etc. There will be a support for Samsung Pay and it will feature a fingerprint scanner too.

The price is touted to be around CNY 3,000 (around $465) at the time of launch and will be available first in China followed by other regions.
