Coolpad Cool S1 announced by LeEco and Coolpad with Snapdragon 821, 6GB of RAM and a 4070mAh battery

LeEco and Coolpad has launched a couple of smartphones jointly including the Cool1 that was launched in August and the Cool Changer 1C that was launched last month in China. Some devices like Cool C105, Cool C105-6 and Cool C107-9 from the joint venture has already got the TENAA approval this month that comes with top-end specifications including 6GB RAM and 4000mAh batteries. The joint venture of both companies has now launched the new device Coolpad Cool S1 that is the Cool C105 or Cool C105-6 that got the TENAA approval in November and this month, respectively.

The Cool S1 is priced at CNY 2,499 (around $359) for the 4GB/32GB variant, CNY 2,699 (around $388) for the 6GB/64GB variant and CNY 3,199 (around $460) for the 6GB/128GB variant. The device is listed at LeMall and at Coolpad website also. The Cool S1 comes with Ganges Gold, Dark Black and Black Streamer color options. The device is packed with full metal unibody design and also features two front-facing speakers with Harman’s Clari-Fi audio. This smartphone comes with a USB Type-C headset and there is no 3.5mm headphone jack available.

The Coolpad Cool S1 comes with 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and is powered by a 2.35 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB and 6GB RAM variants that comes with 32GB, 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage capacity and there is no expandable MicroSD card storage slot available with this device. It runs on the EUI 5.8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box and supports Dual SIM option.

The Cool S1 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, 4K recording and Dual-LED flash and the device also houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed up by a 4070mAh battery that comes with the Quick Charge 3.0 for faster battery chargin and connectivity options includes 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, OTG and USB Type-C. It measures 151.4×74.7×7.5mm and weighs 168 grams. There is no details available weather these joint venture phones will be available outside Chinese market or not.
