Xiaomi announces July 27 event, RedMi Note 4, Notebook PC expected

Xiaomi recently unveiled three spokesperson who would also act as brand ambassadors and they seem to have gotten down to business. One of the spokesperson, Actor Liu Hao Ran few days back announced via a post on Weibo that Xiaomi is scheduling a news conference for July 27 at the Beijing National Convention Centre.

Earlier on, we have been hinted that the Tech company is planning to release multiple phones and other devices in one single event. Also, Xiaomi’s CEO and Founder, Lei Jun had disclosed that the company is in top gear to increase production of new phones for release during the second half (H2) of 2016.

During the July 27 event, Xiaomi is expected to release the Xiaomi Mi 5s and flagship Mi Note 2 packing a setup comprising an all metal body, Helio X20 processor, 4GB RAM + 128GB on-board storage, fingerprint scanner and dual rear camera. The company is also expected to release the Redmi Note 4 which was suspected to be the device code-named Xiaomi Altun recently spotted on Geekbench.

Recent report again suggests that the much expected  Xiaomi Notebook PC which looks a lot like Apple’s MacBook Pro will launch on July 27 as well. The report, albeit a rumor, indicate that the Xiaomi Notebook will be powered by an Intel Atom processor and will run on Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system The device is said to sport a very thin body built, has a long lasting battery pack under its hood and just like the and a webcam just like on the MacBook.

The Xiaomi Notebook will come in three display variants; 12.5-inches, 13.3-inches and a 15.6-inch model but small display variants are expected to hit the market first.

Lei Jun had promised us that Xiaomi will release a good number of top-end but moderately priced phones and gadgets in H2 2016 and now the catalogue of devices expected to be unveiled on July 27 keeps growing. There’s a good chance that a lot more devices will join the growing list before the date of the news conference. We’ll keep you updated if that happens.
