Unannounced Xiaomi Altun spotted on Geekbench

Few weeks after the device code-named Xiaomi Capricorn was spotted in a Geekbench listing, another device with the code-name Xiaomi Altun has been sighted in Geekbench as well.xiaomi altun geekbench

The Geekbench listing revealed very scanty details about the device but showed that the Xiaomi Altun is powered by an octa-core processor and packs 2GB of RAM on board. Also, the device will boot Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

The device logged a total of 25 test results on Geekbench since early May 2016 but surprisingly, the field that normally lists the chipset in use was left blank all 25 times.

The Xiaomi device scored fairly consistent set of results. The last test of the lot, however, resulted in the lowest tallies computed for the device. The device had a single-core score of 798 and a multi-core score of 2664. The highest single-core score, 980, was produced on a test conducted May 8th. The peak multi-core score of 4076 was the result of a Geekbech test conducted on June 30th.

 It would be recalled vividly that a phone code-named the Xiaomi Capricorn passed through Geekbench earlier this month. That device was tested with a Snapdragon 820 chipset inside, with a quad-core 2GHz CPU. 3GB of RAM and Android 6.0.1 was installed. While it is always difficult to tell which device this is, this could be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 given the CPU it is sporting.
