Samsung has announced its Galaxy Note Unpacked 2016 event which is scheduled for August 2 and will be held at multiple venues. This event will take place simultaneously at 3 venues: in New York City at 11am, in Rio de Janeiro at Noon, and in London at 4pm. The users looking to watch this event live online can also watch the live streaming via official website. Samsung has also annouced in its official post that it will announce the latest flagship in the Galaxy Note series called the Galaxy Note7.

Samsung hasn’t shared any specification details of the device in the official post nut has confirmed that the Galaxy Note7 will have added functionality of the S Pen and will have a large screen. “Galaxy Note7 is a powerful instrument for achievement and self-expression, and is made for those who want to get the most from their phones – and their lives. Galaxy Note7 will help people do more in work, at home and everywhere in between. We can’t wait to tell you more about it!”

The Korean Giant also explained in the official post about its Galaxy Note7 name instead of the Galaxy Note6. “You might be curious as to why it’s called Galaxy Note7 instead of Galaxy Note6. There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note7 will  complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio. Second, the Galaxy Note7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone.”

The Galaxy Note7 have been leaked already on benchmark websites like on GeekBench and on AnTuTu with two model numbers. A leaked teaser in the past has already confirmed the launch date August 2. The model number SM-N930V was spotted at AnTuTu and GeekBench with a qHD display resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and is having the model number SM-N930V. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage slot as well. It features a 13-megapixel rear LED flash camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with model number SM-N930F at GeekBench was spotted with a 1.50 GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. It scored 909 points in single core test and 3768 points in the multi-core test. No other details about the device were listed in the GeekBench listing.
