Gionee S9 launched with MediaTek Helio P10, 4GB RAM and 3000mAh battery

Gione has launched new device in the Gionee S series and the successor to the Gionee S8 smartphone that is known as Gionee S9. It comes with metal unibody design and a fingerprint scanner is available on the home button on front. It is priced at 2499 yuan (around $365) in China and there is no information available about its global rollout yet. Color options includes Black, Gold and Rose Gold.

The Gionee S9 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS 2.5D curved glass display with 1920× 1080 pixels resolution and is powered by the 2GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with Mali T860 GPU. It has 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 64GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB with microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS with Amigo OS 3.2 on top and supports Hybrid Dual SIM option.

It features a dual rear camera with 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual lenses with dual-tone LED flash. It also comes with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. A 3000mAh battery is available to back up the device and it also supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS connectivity options. It measures 154.2×76.4×7.4mm and weights 168.2 grams.

The Gionee S9 got the TENAA approval few days back and the company started teasing the device afterwards. This device comes with an exciting look and metal body that gives it a premium look. Dual rear cameras are now common for the new devices along with a fingerprint scanner that is also accepted by the leading smartphone company Apple that launched the iPhone 7 Plus with dual-rear cameras.
