Blackberry launched their first Android powered smartphone Blackberry Priv last year with attractive features along with a physical keyboard slider. The device got an excellent response from the buyers around the world and the company reported that they sold more than 600,000 Priv phones in Q4 FY 2016. Despite that, the company reported $238 million loss. In some markets, like India, the company launched the Priv with a steep price. The company also announced that it will launch more Android powered smartphones in future.
Some images from the Blackberry Vienna were also leaked last year. Now according to new rumors online, Blackberry is working on two new Android smartphones code named Blackberry “Hamburg” and BlackBerry “Rome”. Some renders of both the devices got leaked too.
BlackBerry “Rome” looks similar to the Blackberry “Vienna” in the leaked renders (via BerryLink) and is expected to have a physical keyboard below the display. A speaker is also placed below the physical keyboard just like the Blackberry Priv. The device will feature a curved OLED display according to the source, but no other specs were shared.
Another leaked blurry image (check the 1st image in this article) shows both the Blackberry “Hamburg” and BlackBerry “Rome” devices. The Blackberry “Hamburg” render (via BerryLink) comes with the latest Blackberry logo above the display and a real image was also leaked by the source that comes with the power button on the left and the volume buttons on the right. The device looks excellent in the leaked image but the leaked render suggests that it will not have a physical keyboard, may be a hidden slider will be placed.
Blackberry Hamburg also comes with a large speaker below the display and is expected to be a mid-range device that will carry the price tag of around $400. It is expected to be launched somewhere in the second quarter of the year 2016 according to the source. The source haven’t shared any specs of the device.
