Android 6.0 Marshmallow rolling out to Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) on Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular

Motorola has started rolling the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) in the US on the Verizon, Sprint and US Cellular carriers. David Schuster, Senior Director, SW Product Management at Motorola Mobility, shared this news on his Google Plus profile today. In addition, David also announced that they have started the soak test for the 2015 Moto X Play in Brazil and India and for Moto X Force in Brazil.

He posted,”I have some news with respect to our Android Marshmallow 6.0 upgrades. This afternoon we have started to fully rollout Android Marshmallow 6.0 on 2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen) with the following carriers: Verizon, Sprint and USC. In addition, we have started the soak test period in Brazil and India retail for the 2015 Moto X Play and in Brazil retail for the 2015 Moto X Force. We are continuing to work to rollout Android Marshmallow 6.0 to the previously announced devices as listed on the Official Motorola Blog. Thanks and enjoy!”.

Its a good news for the US users and for the Indian and Brazil users as well who will get the Android Marshmallow update soon for Moto X Force and Moto X Play devices in the nearer future. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with number of new features and enhancements for the Motorola devices. Doze mode is added that will help to preserve your phone’s battery life, App Standby feature helps reduces the battery drain of your phone by putting your seldom-used apps into a reduced activity state, new App permissions are introduced where apps designed for Marshmallow only ask for permissions at the time it’s needed to use a feature, instead of all at once when you install the app and many more other useful features like App links, Do not disturb, new Volume controls, Now on Tap, Direct share, Moto Assist, Motorola Migrate and Attentive Display.
