Google released the new Android 6 Marshmallow update on September 29th last month and the final build of Marshmallow was pushed to AOSP on October 5th. HTC was the one of the smartphone makers who announced to update the HTC One (M8) GPE edition to the Android Marshmallow update Starting October. But users started reporting that HTC One M8 GPE have not got any Marshmallow update this month. For some reasons it was delayed from HTC end and finally today, the confirmation for the same came from HTC itself.


HTC’s Mo Versi, VP Product Management, confirmed the delay via his Twitter account. He tweeted that a slight delay has been encountered and the software update will start rolling again within next few days after getting the TA (Technical Approval) for the update. He tweeted,” HTC (M8) GPE – We’ve come across a slight delay and required to re-spin SW. I am expecting TA within next few days and will keep you posted.”

HTC One (M8) Google Play Edition was launched last year in March along with HTC One (M8) Developer edition. It was priced at $699 at the launch and was running Android 4.4.2 OS. It features a 5-inch full-HD display and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM. It has 16GB and 32GB storage options and expandable storage via microSD cards up to 128GB.

It has a 4-UltraPixel camera on rear side and a 5-megapixel front camera as well. it gets power from a 2600mAh battery and supports Nano-SIM. It was launched with 90 percent metal body with premium look and feel.
