OnePlus 2 : Invite system modified by the company

Last year , One Plus One was among the breakout devices, challenging the status quo with wonderful specs at unbeatable prices. The biggest problem was how to get one’s hand on One. The company sold its first generation product through an invite system and to get the invite one had to jump through the hoops, which included the possibility of breaking down one’s own device.

This year, again One Plus 2 will be available through an invite system but certain changes have been made. In a blog post the company has told about the reasons why it chooses an invite system and all the details about the new invite system has also been revealed.

The company had confidence in its product but did not know how would the customers react. So explaining the reason behind last year’s invite system, the company said in a post, “We had no clue how many people would actually want to buy it and had the challenge of managing our cash flow and inventory risks. In addition we didn’t agree that pre-orders or having products instantly becoming sold out was a great experience. Our solution to managing risk and the user experience was the invite system.”

 

Due to “less positive feedback” about the last year’s invite system, some major changes have been made by the company in the invite system for OnePlus Two.

One of the major change is that, invites will become a lot easier to come by. OnePlus is planning a much larger launch inventory this time seeing the success of its product last year.

Next, the company is also planning to launch a reservation list to invite people to register which means they will not have to jump through the eternal hoops. If you are amongst one of the early OnePlus forum supporters then you’ll get the priority on the reservation list so that you may get the device a lot sooner.

Lastly, the main thing about last year’s invite system was that you could share the invites with your friends after you had bought the product but these invite took sometime to become available.

This is going to change with OnePlus 2 as the company is going to offer shareable invites a lot before you actually buy the handset. This would mean more people will be able to buy the handset sooner.
