Asus to launch two smartphones at CES 2017. confirms new teaser video

Asus recently started sending invites for its upcoming event for CES 2017 titled “Zennovation” where the company is expected to launch new devices including a first Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone. The Asus event is set for January 4th just before the CES 2017 event that is scheduled from January 5th to 8th in Las Vegas. Rumors suggests that the company may launch the new Zenfone 4 series smartphones in this event but there are very less chances. The company has now released a teaser video that confirms the launch of at least two new smartphones.

The company’s recently released teaser video on YouTube confirms that the company will launch two smartphones but the teaser doesn’t reveals anything else about these two mystery smartphones. The teaser video comes with a device having an infinity sign on the display and the other one having an inverted ‘V’ on the device display. We don’t know what these signs means in the video but these might be the hints about the new devices names.

According to the rumors the company is expected to launch a new Tango enabled smartphone in the CES 2017 event rumored to launch as Zenfone AR as the company’s CEO Jerry Shen confirmed the same in a statement. Shen said “ZenFone AR will come with advanced functionality and performance at a competitive price.” that confirms the name of the device but no specifications details were outed.

Another possibility is the launch of the new ZenFone 3 Zoom smartphone featuring dual-lens rear camera as spotted at TENAA with model name ASUS_Z01HDA. The device also got the FCC approval earlier this month in the US. At TENAA, the ZenFone 3 Zoom was spotted listed with a 5.5-inch AMOLED full HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and it is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor.

It comes with multiple variants having 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM and 16GB, 32GB, 64GB inbuilt storage options with the support of up to 32GB expandable storage via MicroSD card slot. It runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box and also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side. It features a dual-rear camera setup with dual-tone LED flash and a 13-megapixel front facing camera. It is powered by a large 4850mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and other standard options. It measures 154.3 × 77 × 7.99 mm and weights 170 grams. Color options includes Navy Black, New Crafts Silver and Luxury Gold.

The Bluetooth certification listing of the device revealed that it will have a 5.5-inch Full-HD AMOLED 2.5D glass display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (MSM8953) processor. It will be powered by a 5000mAh battery and will feature a dual rear camera having 12.2-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors. It will feature a 13-megapixel front camera.
