Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) spotted on Geekbench with Exynos 7420 chipset

Samsung had gradually released the second generation of its A series with upgraded specs. We have seen 2016 versions for the Galaxy A5, A7, A9 and now a Galaxy A8 2016 has been spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench with the model number SM-A810F, the same with the one listed on parallel benchmarking site GFXBench

The Samsung Galaxy A8 was released last year, powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor the A8 2016 listed on Geekbench will feature an Exynos 7420 chipset from Samsung. Although the Exynos 7420 chipset isn’t the latest, it is a top model which Samsung used in the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge +, Note 5 and other top ,models. The chipsets performs well and helps reduce the smartphone’s power consumption.

The Galaxy A8 2016 also integrates Mali-T760 MP8 GPU along with the Exynos 7420 chip. The Geekbench database showed the device had a run of 1467 points on the single run test and 5018 points on the multi-core test. This is a clear indication that the Sanspdragon 615 SoC in last year’s.

The Geekbench records shows the smartphone will have 3GB of RAM, an upgrade from 2GB in last year’s version and would boot Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. As a reminder, the first generation Samsung Galaxy A8 was launched last year and featured specifications like 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, Android 5.1 (Lollipop), 16MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera, Fingerprint scanner, 3050mAh battery and 4G LTE connectivity.
