AmanLeEco launched the LeEco Le 2 smartphone in April along with Le Max 2 and LeEco Le 2 Pro and amongst these the Le Max 2 comes with 6GB of RAM. These smartphones are around 4 months old and we now have a rumor for the upcoming LeEco smartphone that will feature 8GB of RAM. If that really happens, then it will be the world’s first smartphone to have 8GB of RAM. The device is rumored to be called as LeEco Le 2S and the other device successors will also be launched.
The LeEco Le 2S will also be the second smartphone to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 821 SoC, as Asus has already launched a SD821 powered smartphone in the past months. This new device with 8GB of RAM is also rumored to launch in early September if we believe the leak by a weibo user. The weibo user also shared an image from the device that show the upper front part of this unannounced device. With 8GB RAM and the SD821 SoC, it will be a powerful device and will also be costly compared to other LeEco devices launched in the past.
LeEco Le 2S will feature a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D glass and will be powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset with 8GB of RAM. It will have 64GB of internal storage and there will also be a expandable storage slot. It will feature a single lens rear camera and a front facing camera as well. There is no information available about the other specifications of this device and we will have more details with future leaks of this device.
To recall, the LeEco Le 2 was launched with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 500nits brightness and 80% NTSC color gamut. It is powered by the 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It has 3GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB (eMMC5.1) internal storage capacity. It supports Dual SIM and runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EUI 5.8 on top.
It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF and also has an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size and 76.5-degree wide-angle lens. It is backed up by the 3,000mAh battery with fast charging feature and connectivity features includes 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz),Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB Type C. Other new features it comes with are CDLA loss-less audio, Dolby Atmos, Fingerprint sensor and infrared sensor. It measures 151.1 × 74.2 × 7.5mm and weights 153 grams.
