Huawei Honor 5A launched with Kirin 620, 2GB of RAM and 3100mAh battery

Huawei has finally announced the latest smartphone Huawei Honor 5A after posting a number of teasers of the launch event on their weibo account. The standard version of the Honor 5A is priced at 699 yuan (around $106) and the China Unicom, China Telecom and entire network variant is priced 799 yuan (around $121). The pre-orders are available via vmall and the sale will start in China from June 17th.

The Huawei Honor 5A comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 178-degree viewing angle, 1000:1 contrast ratio, tempered glass protection and 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It comes with two processor variants, one with 1.2 GHz octa-core Kirin 620 processor with Mali 450 GPU and the other with octa-core Snapdragon 617 (4 x 1.5GHz + 4 x 1.2GHz) processor with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage with expandable storage up to 128GB with microSD card slot.

It runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Emotion UI 4.1 and supports Dual SIM. It features a 13-mwgapixel rear camera with LED Flash, Sony/OmniVision sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 28mm wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony/Hynix BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 27mm wide-angle 4P lens. It is backed up by a 3100 mAh battery with connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It measures 154.3×77.1×8.45 mm and weights 168 grams.

We will let you know about the Huawei Honor 5A Plus as well that was expected to be announced with the Honor 5A. The Honor 5A Plus was spotted at GFXBench with a 5.5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and is powered by the octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (Cortex A53 – ARMv8) processor with Adreno 405 GPU. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage capacity and will also have an expandable storage MicroSD card slot as well.

It runs on the Android 6.0 marshmallow based EMUI. It features a 13-megapixel rear LED flash camera and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. Other features that this device will have will be GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, single SIM option and other standard connectivity options as well. No other details were listed in the GFXBench listing of the device.
