Last year, Gionee Elife S8 was spotted on GFXBench with model name GN-9008 showing us the specs of the device. But looks like that is some other Gionee device but with similar specs like Elife S8 as a new device has been spotted on GFXBench with name Gione Elife S8 now and model name GN9011. Gionee has already scheduled an event for MWC 2016 on February 22 in Barcelona where it will launch the Gionee Elife S8 smartphone which will be the successor to the Gionee Elife S7.
The GFXBench listing for the Gionee Elife S8 shows us the specifications of the device that includes a 4.6-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by an octa core 1.9GHz MediaTek MT6755 (Cortex A53 – ARMv8) processor along with ARM Mali-T860 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage capacity. Elife S8 runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, face detection and auto focus. There is an 8-megapixel front facing camera available 4k video recording feature as per the GFXBench listing. Other features includes Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and single SIM support. No other details are available currently in the Elife S8 GFXBench listing. We are just a couple of weeks away from the official Gionee event at MWC where the company will unveil the flagship device in the ‘Elife S’ series.
Previously, the Gionee Elife S8 was rumored to come with a pressure-sensitive display that was available first in the iPhone 6S from Apple and in the Huawei Mate S smartphone. It will also come with a bigger battery capacity that was not listed in the GFXBench listing.
