Mo Versi, VP, Product Management HTC has confirmed via his official tweet that the two of the HTC devices will get the latest Android Marshmallow updates this month. The unlocked HTC One M9 to get android 6.0 Marshmallow and the new HTC One A9 will updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. He also confirmed that the Android update for the HTC’s flagship device HTC One A9 will also include updated emoji.

The HTC One A9 is already running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will get the 6.0.1 this month, whereas, the HTC One M9 unlocked variant users are waiting since October for the Android 6.0 update. But, this update will be rolled out to the unlocked variant of the One M9, not for the other carrier variants of the phone. This will be a good news for all the HTC One M9 unlocked variant and the HTC One A9 flagship owners.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update comes with new features and enhancements that includes Doze Mode, Now on Tap, Android Pay, Direct Share, Simpler volume controls and other features. The new app permissions allows its users to give approval to the apps on a feature-by-feature basis. There are many other features available as well that the users will notice after the update.

HTC One M9 is a year old device and HTC is expected to launch the new flagship device HTC One M10 or HTC One O2 soon as per rumors. It will have a 6-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 Soc that was launched last month by Qualcomm. It will have 4GB of RAM as per rumors and 16GB/64GB inbuilt storage capacity with expandable storage slot.
