Motorola has started rolling the Android Marshmallow update of on almost all of its handsets and now they have started rolling the update on the 2nd gen Motorola Moto E smartphone in India. In December last year, Motorola announced that Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolled out to its Moto E (2015) handset in select regions and now they have started rolling it from last 2-3 days in India. The Moto E 2nd Gen is the affordable smartphone launched by Motorola with 4G LTE connectivity option.

This update is available OTA and comes with 454MB size. To update users must be on the WiFi network with over 80% battery available on the phone. The Android marshmallow update also comes with February Android security patch also. This is a good news or all Moto E 2015 users in India. IF you haven’t received the update notification you can manually check for the update by going to Settings> About Phone> System Update and follow the instructions to update your Moto E.

We already know that Motorola device runs on stock android, means there is no custom UI on the Motorola devices the new Marshmallow update brings new features and enhancements for the Moto E 2nd Gen (2015). The update brings new features like Now on Tap feature, new Chrome that will change the users web experience, redesigned app permissions, new ways to handle Web links, fingerprint APIs for developers for adding to the apps, Android Pay feature, Do Not Disturb mode, Doze-battery saver feature and many other useful features as well.

To recall, the Moto E 2nd Gen was launched with a 4.5-inch qHD display with Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection and 960 x 540 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with 400 MHz Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB internal storage that can be further expanded with microSD storage card. The device was running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out of the box at its launch in India.

It features a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera. The device support Dual SIM and comes with 2390mAh battery. It has connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio support as well. It measures 66.8×129.9×5.2 – 12.3 mm and weights 145 grams.
