BlackBerry Mercury teased by TCL in a short video

Last month, Blackberry announced that all of its future smartphones will be manufactured and sold by TCL communication ltd. And after that announcement, TCL announced that it will announce new Blackberry branded smartphones at TCL 2017 event. Now the China based company has just teased a new smartphone on their Twitter account in a short 4 seconds video that shows the small portion of the device physical QWERTY keyboard. The teaser have been posted by the President and General Manager of TCL Communication (TCT), North America, Mr. Steve Cistulli.

The Blackberry Mercury was spotted in leaked images and renders in the past showing the full view of the device. The Blackberry Mercury is expected to be launched as Blackberry DTEK70 at the CES event that will start tomorrow in Las Vegas. The leaked image shows a 4.5-inch display for the device along with the launch date of January 2017. The leaked image also confirms that the Blackberry Mercury will have a fingerprint scanner on the space button available within the QWERTY keyboard. The second leaked render shows the device in white grey color options along with the physical QWERTY keyboard.

The rumored specifications of the Blackberry Mercury includes a 4.5-inch display along with a physical QWERTY keyboard and will be powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 821 SoC that comes with the Adreno 530 GPU while the previous rumors were saying it to be the Snapdragon 625 SoC. There will be a large battery with this device around 3400mAh. It will have a 18-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It will have 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage.

The past rumors said that the Blackberry Mercury will feature a 4.5-inch full HD display with a physical QWERTY keyboard and will be powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor with Adreno 506 GPU instead of the Snapdragon 821 SoC. It will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage with expandable microSD expandable storage. It will feature a 18-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It will be powered by a 3400mAh battery and connectivity options includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. it is rumored to come with a 3400mAh battery.
