Huawei announces Android 7 Nougat update roadmap, these devices will get it first

The Chinese Huawei has announced a list of the devices that will get the Android Nougat update first in the year 2017. The company also confirmed that the Nougat update will start rolling in the first quarter of the year 2017 along with the latest EMUI 5.0 ROM. The company also shared the list of the devices that will get the update first which includes the device the company launched in the past year. The list of the device includes devices such as Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, Huawei P9 Lite, Huawei Nova and the Huawei Nova Plus.

The company launched the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone that already runs on the EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. There is no specific date confirmed by the company of the rollout but has said that the Huawei Mate 8 and Huawei P9 will get it first followed by the remaining at the time the rollout begins. There is no new available if the devices other than the listed above will get the Nougat update or not in the year 2017.

The Mate 8 and Huawei P9 can also download the EMUI 5.0 based Nougat ROM with the beta testing app that is available on the official Huawei Italy website to test the beta build of the OS. The new EMUI 5.0 based on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS comes with new features, security enhancements, new UI and Android Nougat goodies. The new update brings power management for better battery optimization and the update also brings various other features including the App Lock that helps users to lock specific apps like Whats app, Facebook etc with a password. The update brings several other features as well.

The company launched the flagship Huawei Mate 9 along with the Mate 9 Pro, Mate 9 Lite and the special Huawei Mate 9 Porsche design limited edition. All comes pre installed with the EMUI 5.0 based on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS with other premium features including a high RAM options and storage and AMOLED curved displays as well.
