Huawei starts teasing the Mate 9 flagship before the November 3 launch

Recently, the upcoming Huawei flagship Mate 9 was leaked in HD renders and is expected to launch with two variants with one having flat display to be known as Mate 9 while the other having curved display and will be launched as Mate 9 Pro. Huawei is going to launch the flagships on November 3rd and the company has now started teasing the device on their weibo account. According to the rumors, the Mate 9 will be a costlier device from Huawei.

The standard variant of the Mate 9 is expected to launch with features such as a full metal body and will have a 5.9-inch or a 6-inch FullHD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and will be powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor with 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage option, 4GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage option and 6GB RAM + 256GB internal storage options. It will have a a large 4000 mAh battery and will also have a Leica branded dual-camera setup. It will run on the Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. A fingerprint scanner will be available on the rear side.

The high-end Mate 9 pro is rumored to launch with a 5.9-inch qHD display with 2.5D curved glass and 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution with 95% wide color gamut. It will be powered by the octa-core Huawei Kirin 960 processor. It will feature 4GB /6GB of RAM along with 64GB / 128GB / 256GB inbuilt storage options and will run on the Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS with Emotion UI with Dual-SIM support as well.

It might feature a 20-megapixel dual rear cameras with Leica SUMMARIT lenses, dual-tone LED flash and Laser AF with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera also. There will be a 4000mAh battery and 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC connectivity options. A fingerprint scanner will be placed on the rear panel.

The rumored pricing details of the standard Huawei Mate 9 variant is rumored to be around 3399 yuan (around $510) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage option, 3899 yuan (around $585) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage and 4699 yuan (around $705) for the top-end 6GB RAM + 256GB internal storage option. The carrier variant of the device will be priced at 3199 yuan (around $480). The Mate 9 Pro is expected to be priced at $1300 according to Evleaks.
