US Cellular starts rolling Marshmallow update to Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Google has already launched the Android 7.0 Nougat OS and still some flagship devices are running the Lollipop OS and this includes phones from Samsung and other companies. Samsung has now started rolling the Marshmallow OS to its Note series flagship device Galaxy Note 4 on US Cellular. The update bumps the software to Marshmallow 6.0.1 version and comes with Marshmallow features and enhancements.

The new Marshmallow OS update comes with new features including Doze, Google Now on Tap and redesigned app permissions and also comes with bug fixes and stability improvements. Other features of the Marshmallow OS includes Adopted Storage, Android Pay, System UI Tuner, improved copy and pasting, custom Google tabs, clear permissions system and many other useful features as well.

The Galaxy Note 4 was launched in the year 2015 with features like a 5.7-inch quad-HD super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and is powered by the 2.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with Adreno 420 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. It was launched with Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS out of the box and features a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, OIS and Ultra HD video recording.

It also features a 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera, f/1.9 aperture and 120 degree wide angle lens. A 3200mAh battery backs up the device and connectivity options includes 4G LTE-A Cat.6 / 3G HSPA+ up to 42 Mbps, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (HT80) MIMO PCIe , Bluetooth v4.1 LE / ANT+, GPS / GLONASS / Beidou , USB2.0, MHL 3.0. Other features includes S Health 3.5, Finger Scanner, UV, Heart Rate Monitoring and iInfrared LED for smart TV remote.

If you are a US Cellular customer and have a Galaxy Note 4 smartphone and haven’t got the notification for the Marshmallow update, then you need to manually check for the available updates. To check for the updates you need to go to Settings > About Device > Software Update > Update Now to check for the updates and to update to the newer Marshmallow built.
