Blackberry DTEK60 (BBA100-1) got FCC approval, launch imminent

Blackberry launched their second Android powered smartphone Blackberry DTEK50 a couple of months back in the US. Blackberry was also spotted working on a high-end smartphone powered by Android called Blackberry DTEK60 (Argon) that was leaked few days back in an official Blackberry listing confirming all of its specifications. There were no images available of this new device but we can see the launch of this device soon as it has now got the FCC approval in the US confirming that it will be made official soon.

The FCC documents for the Blackberry DTEK60 shows that this device comes with a different model number BBA100-1. One of the FCC document also confirms the marketing name for this device as DTEK60 just like we saw in the FCC documents for the DTEK50 in the past. The manufacturer is again confirmed as TCL Communication Ltd. for this device if we check out the FCC documents. It comes with Bluetooth v4.2 LE, 4G LTE with VoLTE, NFC and WiFi 802.11b/g/n HT20 other connectivity options.

No other details about the device were available from the FCC documents. The Blackberry DTEK60 was spotted listed on official website with specifications such as 5.5-inch diagonal Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core (MSM8996 with 64 bit quad-core 2+2 Kryo 2.15GHz / 1.6GHz) processor with Adreno 530 624MHz GPU. It runs on Android OS out of the box.

It comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage with expandable storage via microSD memory card up to 2TB. It features a 21-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with 4K video recording at 30 fps, 720p HD video recording at 120 fps, Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), Fast focus lock, HDR, 6-element f2.0 lens, Dual Tone LED Flash – Enhanced photo color balance, 4x digital zoom, Continuous & touch to focus, face detection, video image stabilization, Panorama, Burst, Live Filters, Multi-frame Low Light Enhancement.

It also comes with an 8-megapixel Fixed-Focus front camera with f2.2, 1.125um pixel size, 84˚ wide angle/field of view lens, HDR, Live Filters, video image stabilization, Image & video stabilisation, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, Selfie Flash, Wide Selfie Mode (also known as Selfie Panorama), Multi-Frame Low Light Enhancement.

It comes with a 3000 mAh 4.4V non-removable Lithium Ion battery that comes with QC 3.0 Enabled. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, USB Type-C, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz, 802.11 a/n 5GHz, 802.11 ac 5GHz, 4G Mobile Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy (LE) and EDR, Assisted, Autonomous and Simultaneous GPS, Support for User Plane and Control Plane GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, OTDOA and NFC. A fingerprint scanner will also be available in this phone.
