The Gionee S6s is the next smartphone in the Gionee S series, the front facing flash is the major highpoint of the device and Gionee isn’t keeping mute about that. The teased image shows both the front and back sides of the device. Except for the absence of a physical home button, the front view of the S6s looks very much like the Gionee M6 released earlier on. The power up button and volume controls is visible at the side of the phone while at the rear, there is the fingerprint sensor just below the LED flash which in turn is underneath the main camera.

The Gionee S6s is an upgraded version of the Gionee S6 which was launched earlier this year. The S6s sports a 5.5-inch 2.5D curved glass display with resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The device is said to boot Android 6.0 Marshmallow from the go, with Gionee’s Amigo 3.2 UI hovering on top and has an all metal body.

The smartphone will be powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor attached with Mali-T-720 GPU. The processor is backed by 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Talking about the camera, the Gionee S6s will feature a cool 13MP Sony IMX258 rear facing sensor with LED flash, with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and capable of 1080p video recording. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens and LED flash.

The device also crams a generous 3,150mAh battery under its hood. Connectivity options such as 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS are all available on the S6s.

We should have all the details on the day of the launch which is August 22.
