A GFX Bench benchmarking data for a device was spotted recently and because of certain key specs it is shown to possess, it is alleged that the smartphone is the Huawei Mate 9. The GFXBench listing featured a smartphone whose identity is masked, only identified as “Unknown”. But from the chipsets it packs, the unknown smartphone is suspected to be the Huawei Mate 9 specs on display.

The device is said to pack a 2.6GHz Octa-core HiSilicon Hi3660 chipset with Mali-T880 GPU. The serial number Hi3660 suggests the device is having a new generation chip, with Huawei rumored to be working on a new Kirin 970 chipset. Previous Huawei chipset models like the Kirin 920 had a serial number of Hi3630, 930 had Hi3635 and Kirin 955 had Hi3650 as its serials so the Hi3660 is likely a new higher chipset clocked at 2.6GHz as against 2.5GHz found on the Huawei P9 flagship.

The listing also shows the device will sport a 5.9-inch display having a resolution of 1929 x 1080pixels and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. In addition, the Huawei Mate 9 will pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on-board.

On the camera aspect, whereas it had been rumored that the Mate 9 will feature a huge 20MP camera at the rear but the GFXBench data showed the device will sport a 12MP rear facing camera and an 8MP front facing camera.
