Samsung’s next generation Exynos 8895 chipset which is said to be in the pipeline may have gotten closer to finding its way into flagships than we though. The latest development is that the Exynos 8895 chipset has been spotted listed on India’s import/export tracking website, Zauba. The listing showed the cargo originated from South Korea, Samsung’s home country and not just that, the cargoes were described with model number S5E8895 which apparently represents the expected Exynos 8895 SoC.

You might want to ask how we knew this. Well, Samsung’s Exynos 8890 processor was numbered S5E8890 which by implication means the package listed as S5E8895 is likely the Exynos 8895 chipset.

However, it is unclear at this point the specifications the Exynos 8895 processor will pack but it is highly likely that Samsung is working on a new processor line. Reason being that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC rivals Samsung’s Exynos 8890 chips and now Qualcomm has upgraded to a higher SD821 chipset which is said to boost performance by 10%, it is just normal that Samsung does the same by upgrading the Exynos 8890 which like the SD820 uses 14nm process. Already, the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe would be the first device to come powered by the SD821 chipset, with Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 rumored to use it as well.

We’ll keep you posted on more details as they unravel.
