BlackBerry Neon (DTEK 50) official listing confirms 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 617 and 3GB of RAM

Blackberry Hamburg or Blackberry Neon is soon going to be official in the upcoming days as the Blackberry itself leaked the device by listing it on its official website with images and specifications. The live listing page for the device is currently taken down by the company but the device official page can be seen through Google cached pages. This new device will be launched as Blackberry NEON (DTEK 50) if we check the official device listing. The specifications details of the device are available here. The device has recently got the FCC approval with model number STH100-2 confirming that it will be TCL made.

The images were also visible with the listing which are not available on the Blackberry server, only one image is available on server here. According to the official listing, the Blackberry Neon will have a 5.2-inch Full HD diagonal Scratch-Resistant display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. There is no physical keyboard available but an onscreen BlackBerry keyboard with contextual auto-correction, next-word prediction and a personalised learning engine that gets to know the way you type with on screen flick typing or seamless flow typing.

Blackberry Neon comes with 3GB of RAM and 16 GB inbuilt storage capacity with up to 2TB expandable storage capacity via hot swappable microSD memory card. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core 64-bit (8952) processor (Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53) with 550MHz Adreno 405 GPU. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow SO out of the box.

It features a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Fast focus lock, HDR, 6-element f2.0 lens, Dual tone dual LED Flash – Enhanced photo colour balance, 4x digital zoom, continuous & touch to focus, face detection, image stabilisation, Panorama, Burst, Live Filters, Multi-frame Low Light Enhancement  1080p HD video recording at 30 fps. It also has a 8-megapixel fixed-focus front facing camera with f2.2 aperture, 1.125um pixel size, 84˚ wide angle/field of view lens, Image & video stabilisation, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, Selfie Flash, Wide Selfie Mode (also known as Selfie Panorama) and Multi-Frame Low Light Enhancement.

It will be backed up by a 2610 mAh 4.4V non-removable Lithium Ion battery with Quick Charge 2.0 enabled capable of 50% charge in 51 minutes and can give up to 17 hours mixed battery life. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz with 4G Mobile Hotspot  and Wi-Fi Direct, FM Radio, Bluetooth 4.2 LE and EDR, GPS with Assisted, Autonomous and Simultaneous GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, OTDOA, NFC. It has Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, Proximity, Ambient light and Hall Effect sensors also available. It also comes with an on-screen or white LED indicator.

Blackberry Neon is expected to launch with $350 price tag at the time of its launch.
