Xiaomi today announced a new variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 called the Xiaomi Redmi 3s. It comes with upgraded features and hardware. The Xiaomi Redmi 3s is priced at 699 yuan (around $106) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB inbuilt storage option, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage option is priced at 899 yuan (around $136). It will be available in Dark grey, silver and gold color options from June 16th onwards via mi official website. The Global rollout details of this device were not revealed.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) processor with Adreno 505 GPU with two variants: one with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM + 16GB (eMMC5.0) internal storage and the other with 3GB LPDDR3 (eMMC5.1) RAM + 32GB internal storage with microSD card expandable storage up to 128GB. It runs on the MIUI 7 based on Android.

It supports Dual SIM and features a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording features with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording features. It is backed up by a 4000mAh battery and connectivity features includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and GLONASS. It measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5mm and weights 144 grams.
