Oppo launches Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus with 4GB RAM and 16MP camera

Oppo has finally launched the new flagships Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus in an official event in China. Both the devices are now listed on official Oppo website with full specs and images. The OppoR9 is priced at 2799 Yuan (around $430) and is also available for pre-order on official website. It will be available for sale starting March 24 in China. The OPPO R9 Plus is priced at 3299 Yuan (around $410) and willbe available for sale in China from April 12th. Oppo has, however, not provided any details of its global availability yet. Both the devices comes with Rose Gold and Golden color options.

Let’s check the official specifications of both the flagships next. The Oppo R9 comes with handy specs like a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core (4 x 2.0 GHz + 4 x 1.0 GHz) MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor with 700MHz Mali T860MP2 GPU as well. It has 4GB of RAM available with 64GB internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 128GB with microSD card slot. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 3.0 OS out of the box and also supports Dual-SIM.

It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, LED Flash, 80.6-degree wide-angle lens and 4K video recording as well. It also comes with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 78.1-degree wide-angle lens. There is a 2850mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge feature available that can give 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charge and connectivity options available are 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The Oppo R9 comes with a fingerprint scanner as well. It measures 151.8×74.3×6.6mm and weights 145 grams.

The Oppo R9 Plus, on the other hand, comes with more handy features like a large 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 (called as SD 620) processor (Quad 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2GHz A53 CPUs) with Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB and 128GB internal storage options with expandable storage up to 128GB with microSD card. It runs on the same Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 3.0 OS out of the box with Dual-SIM feature as well.

It features a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX298, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and LED Flash and the same 16-megapixel camera on the front as well with f/2.0 aperture and 78.1-degree wide-angle lens. It has a large 4120mAh battery with VOOC flash charge feature. It also has a fingerprint scanner and connectivity options includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It measures 163.1×80.78×7.4mm and weights 185 grams.
