Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update arrives for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in Korea

We already know that the Samsung has not officially announced its plans for Android 6 Marshmallow updates for its devices, but recently some users received the Android 6 update for Galaxy S5 OTA. Some says that Samsung has accidentally rolled out this update to those devices that got the update in the past. Now, the Korean giant has started rolling the latest version of Android called the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the Samsung flagships Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in Korea giving some hopes to the Samsung Galaxy S6 users around the world.

A report from sammobile shows that Samsung started rolling the new Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in Korea. The update comes with latest built date Fri, 22 Jan 2016 13:49:14 +0000 for both the devices. The Galaxy devices that got the latest update comes with model number SM-G920S (GALAXY S6) and SM-G925S (GALAXY S6 Edge). There are no details when the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be rolled out outside Korea.

If the Galaxy S6 devices are getting the Android 6.0.1 update in Korea, Samsung may roll out the update for Galaxy S6 edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 devices in Korea and for other Galaxy devices as well in the upcoming weeks. Samsung previously released a beta test program for Galaxy S6 users in which users were allowed to sign up to test beta Marshmallow firmware in Korea. We can expect a Android 6.0.1 update rollout globally next month or in march for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge at least.

Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagships in the MWC 2016 event next month and recently, some of the renders from both the devices got leaked by Evan Blass on Twitter. In November, an official leaked document confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Android Marshmallow rollout plans.
