MIUI 7 Launched In India, New Color Variants of Mi 4i Launched

MIUI 7 was launched last week in China and now Xiaomi has launched the new Android based MIUI 7 in India today. Xiaomi also annouced three new coloured versions of Mi 4i as a limited edition in the Launch event in New Delhi.

Xiaomi announced that the MIUI 7 Beta will be available for beta supported Mi devices like Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G starting 24 August, Monday. Xiaomi India also announced the new three color variants of Mi 4i which will be available in Blue, Pink, and Yellow colors in limited edition variants, priced at Rs. 12,999 starting 25 August at 2pm exclusively on mi.com/in. Mi 4i was previously available in White and Dark Grey variants only.

MIUI 7 ‘Yours by design” comes with extensive customization options. It will be available in four default themes colors including Rose, Pink Blush, Ocean Breeze and High Life. Another features introduced are a daily lock screen feature that changes the lock screen wallpaper every day, beautiful selection of HD wallpapers with 10 pre-set available on Daily Lock screen rotation which is available only in India currently, better battery life and better performance, Apps start up time reduced, CPU acceleration feature that accelerate CPU whenever needed, 30% better system response time, 48% battery consumption from apps on standby by accessing GPS, network data and Wi-Fi, XXL font size, Baby album feature, daily lockscreen, new Child Mode, Do Not Disturb (DND) mode auto activation with Mi Band that detects that you’re asleep and then switching your phone to DND mode and many other features.

A new MUSE feature is announced for developers to create new themes without any coding. A new feature Showtime is also added that helps users to record a short video loop on phone and exchange contact card with friends. This feature will be rolled out soon.

Xiaomi has also partnered with Opera Max to provide Data Saver that compresses browser and in-app media letting users save up to 50 percent data usage. This feature will be available in September in China, India Brazil, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Philippines.
