Xiaomi launches Mi Note 2 with dual curved OLED display, Snapdragon 821 and 6GB RAM

Xiaomi, today announced its new devices in an official event in China. The company announced the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 first that comes with the latest hardware and exciting dual-curved edge display just like the Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is priced at at 2799 yuan (around $410) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant and 3299 yuan (around $486) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage.

A global variant of the device has also been announced by the company with 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage. It supports global LTE bands (6 types, 37 bands) and is priced at 3499 yuan (around $516). The Xiami Mi Note 2 is available for pre-orders in China and sales of the device will start from November 1st in China. No details available about its global availability.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with a series 7 aluminium frame and features a 5.7-inch OLED 3D dual curved glass display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 110% NTSC color gamut. It comes powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset which is a 2.35GHz quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 821 processor with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB DDR4 RAM + 64GB internal (UFS 2.0) storage and 6GB DDR4 RAM + 128GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage options.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 runs on the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) OS based MIUI 8 and supports Dual SIMs. It features a 22.56-megapixel rear Sony IMX318 sensor camera with dual-tone LED Flash, EIS, 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording, it also has an 8-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture,  Sony IMX258 sensor, 76-degree field of view.

For backup and good performance this device has a 4070mAh battery that comes with Quick Charge 3.0 feature and connectivity options includes 4G VoLTE , WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack and also supports 24-bit 192kHz / 24-bit lossless audio. It measures 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6 mm and weights 166 grams. A fingerprint sensor is also available on the home button on front and the device also comes with an infrared sensor. It comes with Piano Black and Glacier Silver color options.
