It supports Up to 1.8 GHz octa-core (4 x ARM Cortex-A72 and 4 x ARM Cortex-A53 cores) CPU with Adreno 510 GPU on board. Now, a processor with name MSM8976SG has been spotted imported to India for testing and is listed on Indian Import/ Export website Zauba. The Zauba listing also confirms that the new Snapdragon 652 “second gen” processor will support 8GB of RAM and 2.0GHZ/1.4GHZ 4+4 cores CPU. This new processor will support 621MHZ GPU as well according to the zauba listing and will also support QHD resolution display that has 2560×1600 pixels. The listing also shows that 58 units of the Snapdragon 652 2nd Generation chip were imported to India from USA for testing purposes.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset is currently powering a number of devices that includes the newly launched Samsung Galaxy A9 (2016), Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, Vivo XPlay 5, Oppo R9 Plus, Xiaomi Mi Max phablet, Vivo V3 Max, Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra, ZTE Nubia Z11 Max, Alcatel Idol 4s, LeEco Le 2, Vivo X6S Plus, Vivo X6S, Vivo X7, Vivo X7 Plus, and LG G5 SE. More devices are expected to launch with this processor and if the news about the second generation SD652 becomes true, then this processor will surely replace the 1st gen processor in the upcoming smartphones.

None of the above details about the SD652 2nd Gen are officially confirmed by the company, so, take it with lots and lots of grain of salt. Stay tuned for more updates on this topic and others.
