LeEco/Coolpad joint new phone named Cool1 (C106), features Dual main cameras

LeEco and Coolpad has announced the name of the new baby coming out of their merger since the acquisition of controlling stakes in Coolpad by fellow Chinese company LeEco. The new smartphone will go by the name Cool1 according to statements from the company via their official Weibo account.

The smartphone had featured in series of leaks both photos and specs but none disclosed the name of the device. Earlier on we saw the device is a leaked photo of an unidentified lady holding the phone as if trying to take a selfie shot. The leaked photo gifted us the rear view of the device as well as some features on the back. From it we were able to grab that the device will actually sort dual main cameras as rumored and will feature a fingerprint scanner as well on its back.

The Cool1 was also sighted on Chinese telecoms regulatory agency TENAA’s website, where more photos of the device as well as few specs were disclosed. the device was listed with the model number C106 on TENAA.

The Cool1 smartphone is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch display with a mammoth 2K resolution and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage which is believed to be expandable.

As earlier hinted, the Cool1 packs a dual camera setup at the rear with fingerprint sensor. The phone is also said to feature a generous 3500mAh battery and is said to feature dual operating systems. The Cool1 will boot both LeEco’s EUI OS and Coolpad’s CoolUI all Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based, so users will have the option of switching from one OS to the other depending on their choice. Isn’t that lovely?

The LeEco/Coolpad Cool1 will officially be released on  August 10, according to reports but no news yet about the price tag it clutches.
