FCC approves Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A) and Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935A) for US

The upcoming flagship devices from Samsung Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge has now got the FCC approval in the US and we can now assure our readers that Samsung is going to launch both the flagships in the 21st February event just before the MWC 2016. The  Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with model number SM-G930A and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge comes with model number SM-G935A and the letters “US” behind the both FCC applications confirms that both will be US variants.

The FCC documents for both Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge doesn’t includes any images of both handsets but have confirmed some of the specifications of both devices. The FCC documents for the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with additional model numbers including SM-G930A and other number are SM-G930V, SM-G930P, SM-G930T, SM-G930R4. Similarly, the FCC documents for the Galaxy S7 Edge comes with additional model numbers SM-G935A, SM-G935V, SM-G935P, SM-G935T, SM-G935R4.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A) comes with FDD-LTE 2300 (B30) / 1900 (B2 / B25) / 1700 (B4) / 850 (B5) / 800 (B26) / 700 (B12 / B13) MHz, TD-LTE 2500 (B41) MHz, W-CDMA 1900 (II) / 1700 (IV) / 850 (V) MHz, CDMA2000 1900 (BC1) / 800 (BC0 / BC10) MHz, has been passed in the GSM 1900/850 MHz networks support. It is also certified for Bluetooth and WiFi IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac and NFC. The different model names will be used for different US carriers like SM-G930A will be used for AT&T, SM-G930V will be Verizon Wireless model number, SM-G930P will be Sprint version, SM-G930T will be T-Mobile US version and SM-G930R4 will be the US Cellular version.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935A) comes with FDD-LTE 2300 (B30) / 1900 (B2 / B25) / 1700 (B4) / 850 (B5) / 800 (B26) / 700 (B12 / B13) MHz, TD-LTE 2500 (B41) MHz, W-CDMA 1900 (II) / 1700 (IV) / 850 (V) MHz, CDMA2000 1900 (BC1) / 800 (BC0 / BC10) MHz, GSM 1900/850 MHz network support. It also comes with Bluetooth, WiFi  IEEE 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac and NFC. The SM-G935A will be the AT & T Mobility version, SM-G935V will be the Verizon Wireless version, SM-G935P will be the Sprint version, SM-G935T will be the T-Mobile US edition and SM-G935R4 will be the the US Cellular version.

No other details are available in both the FCC applications for both Samsung flagships. Yesterday we saw Samsung developer website confirming the Galaxy S7 Edge name. Samsung has already sent out the invites for its February 21 event where it will announce both the above flagships, the FCC approval has also confirmed the same now.

The rumored specs for the Galaxy S7 includes a 5.1-inch display and will be powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC is some markets and the Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor in others. It will have 4GB of RAM and will come in 32GB or 64GB inbuilt storage variants. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box and will feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It will be backed up by the 3000mAh battery with all necessary connectivity options.

The Galaxy S7 Edge has been spotted in benchmark databases recently revealing its key specs. The device was spotted listed on AnTuTu and GeekBench databases. It comes with a 5.5-inch display with with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and a larger 3600mAh battery as compared to Galaxy S7’s battery. It will have the same other specs like the Galaxy S7 that includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 SoC or the Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processors, 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB inbuilt storage variants, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box, a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera.
